Who We Are
Bethany Presbyterian Church has been a presence in the Ontario, Oregon community for generations. We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), united by faith in Jesus Christ and a shared calling to love our neighbors and serve our community.
We are a diverse family of believers, young and old, long-time members and first-time visitors. Whatever your story, there is room for you here. We believe that the church is at its best when all voices are welcomed and all people are valued.
Our congregation gathers each Sunday for worship, and throughout the week for fellowship, study, and service. We are connected to a broader network of Presbyterian congregations across the Treasure Valley and beyond.
What We Believe
Our faith is rooted in Scripture, expressed in the Reformed tradition, and lived out in community.
Scripture
We hold the Bible as the living scripture of God, and of belief by Faith, not by force.
Grace
We believe that salvation is a gift of God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not earned by our own merit, but freely given to all who receive it.
Worship
Weekly worship, shaped by Word and Sacrament, is at the center of our life as a congregation. We gather to hear God speak and to respond in praise.
Community
We are called not to worship in isolation, but together as a body of believers accountable to one another and to God.
Service
Faith without works is incomplete. We seek to serve our neighbors in Ontario and the surrounding communities as an expression of God's love.
Welcome
All are welcome at Bethany. No matter your background or where you are on your journey, you will find an open door here.
Bethany Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), one of the largest Presbyterian denominations in the United States.
Our Pastor
Reverend Linda Toth
Reverend Linda Toth has served the Ontario community for nine years, bringing a passion for Scripture, an open heart for all people, and a commitment to the life of this congregation.
It is with gratitude mixed with sadness that Bethany will be saying thank you and goodbye to Linda as she enters a well-earned retirement. Linda's last Sunday in the pulpit will be May 31.
Don't miss worship and communion followed by a celebratory lunch. Hamburgers, hot dogs, dessert, and drinks will be provided, and you are invited to bring a side dish if you wish. Please RSVP.
We'd Love to Meet You
Whether you're new to faith, returning after time away, or simply looking for a church home, we hope to see you on a Sunday morning.
